Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase has rejoined Black Leopards on a deal until the end of the season.

Ntshangase has been clubless since he parted ways with Marumo Gallants in June last year. The 29-year-old was on the bench when Leopards lost 1-0 against Polokwane City in the Nedbank Cup qualification match in Malamulele on Saturday.

Head coach Johnny Ferreira says the club will be patient with Ntshangase as he tries to regain his fitness.

“Siphelele Ntshangase is a good player. We just need to get him to the fitness levels. We were nearly close to putting him as a number 10 just to see if he can’t seal the equalizing goal.

“But we decided on Dona (Donald Makgetlwa). But once Siphelele Ntshangase is fit he is going to be a very big problem to oppositions. He has a big match temperament. He has lost a little bit of weight in the last three years and he knows that and we know that,”

“But once he is fit, he is going to be a match winner for us.”

Ntshangase joins Black Leopards after six seasons away following a move to Baroka in 2017. He spent six months at Baroka before the much-publicized move to Kaizer Chiefs. But the move to Amakhosi didn’t prove to be fruitful as he struggled for game time as well as reports of off field discipline.

Amongst the new additions at Leopards are goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane, defender Denis Chembezi and midfielder Freddy Mathole. Blessing Mtetwa has also been roped in as a conditioning coach.

Leopards will take on rivals Venda Football Academy (VFA) in an Motsepe Foundation Championship Vhembe Derby on Saturday. Both clubs are struggling on the log with Leopards in 14th position and VFA second from bottom.
