PSL club Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila have placed head coach Lucky Nelukau on precautionary suspension following his arrest on Friday
Nelukau was allegedly arrested for assaulting criminals who had broken in at his home in Tshakhuma, Limpopo. It is alleged that the culprits used to target the days where he would be away on team duties to steal at his house.
A source has told LimSportsZone that Nelukau was arrested on Friday after mishandling the so-called thieves. He missed the Motsepe Foundation Championship 1-0 loss to JDR Stars at Thohoyandou on Sunday.
TSHAKHUMA TSHA MADZIVHANDILA BOSS SPEAKS
“No, those are personal issues. It has nothing to do with TTM,” said club boss Masala Mulaudzi when asked about the matter.
“Of course we are affected because it’s one of our skeletons. But we leave everything in the hands of the right authority who will deal with the matter.
“I wouldn’t want to comment on that one because I was not there, I don’t know what happened and we will have to wait for the legal process to unfold,” he said.
“He has not done anything wrong to the team. He is still our darling, we will always support him but of course we leave it to the authorities. We don’t know what happened, we were not there.”
Nelukau is set to appear before the Thohoyandou Magistrate court on Monday morning for bail hearing.
RECENT TOUGH RUN IN THE LEAGUE
TTM have found the going tough in their last five league matches. This includes the embarrassing 5-0 defeat by JDR Stars in Thohoyandou on Sunday.
They have not collected any points with straight defeats. They are currently at position 11, four points above the bottom placed team. Vhadau Vha Damani are also 11 points below the top three, which is the promotion playoff spot.
