The South African Football Association, SAFA have announced the start date for the much-awaited 2023 Hollywoodbets Super League.

This season will see newcomers TS Galaxy Queens who have officially taken over the status of Vasco Da Gama. It will make them the third DStv Premiership club to own a female club, the others are Mamelodi Sundowns and Royal AM. Sundowns ladies are the reigning Champions.

The league also bids farewell to Tsunami Queens from the Free State and North West’s Golden Ladies who were both relegated to the Sasol League.

The league will also welcome Copperbelt Ladies from Limpopo and University of Pretoria from Gauteng. They both gained promotion as finalists in the 2022 Sasol League National Playoffs which took place in Polokwane, Limpopo. It was also the first year of relegation and promotion.

ACTION GALORE ON THE FIRST WEEK OF REOPENING

Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will seek to start on a high as they search for a fourth consecutive title.

There will be six matches played this weekend while two of them will be shown live on the SABC Sport platform.

JVW Ladies will take on Thunderbird Ladies at 11:30 while Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies will welcome Richmond United at 15:00. The two matches will be played at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville.

Eastern Cape side City Lads will welcome Rockies TS Galaxy in Gqeberha, while Coal City Wizards host University of the Western Cape at the Puma Stadium in Witbank.

University of Johannesburg will travel to Durban to take on Durban Ladies at Chatsworth Stadium. Ma-Indies Ladies will welcome Royal AM at Giyani Stadium in Limpopo.

On Sunday, newcomers Copperbelts Ladies will host the University of Pretoria at 11:30. First Touch will take on Tshwane University of Technology at 15:00. Both matches will be played at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
