Mpumalanga SAB League club Liver Brothers has revealed how the Nedbank cup success by TS Galaxy has inspired them.

Liver Brothers are into the last 32 of the tournament and take on Sekhukhune United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Galaxy won the tournament in 2019 after beating Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs in Durban. They were participating in the first division at the time and it was also the clubs first participation in the tournament.

Speaking ahead of the clash that kicks off at 19:30, Liver Brothers Managing director Amukelani Gazide says the success of Galaxy and the advice by Tim Sukazi encourages them.

“Those guys from TS Galaxy told us something. They told us not to worry that we are going to Limpopo,”’ he explained.

“When they played the Nedbank Cup, they played four away games. They never played a home game until they played the final with Chiefs. So, they motivated us that we can do this thing.

“So, Sekhukhune, when Sekhukhune loses, they can’t tell you they have been concentrating on the league because they are not doing well there,” he said.

Gazide has also lashed out at the PSL for not affording them an opportunity to have pre-match interviews like other teams have been given.

“I saw others who were being interviewed for Nedbank, but they didn’t recognize us. But we are in the last 32. Maybe they will start to recognize us after Wednesday night,” added the charismatic leader.

“Today look at us, we are in the last 32. My boy was happy that he went to Sandton because he was booked in a hotel. We even had a car, we were being driven around and he was excited”
