Orlando Pirates have completed a remarkable Soweto derby win as they trashed Swallows FC by 4-1 through a hattrick by Monnapule Saleng at Dobsonville Stadium on Friday night.
The Buccaneers made their intentions clear as early as in the sixth minute of the game of the DStv Premiership clash when Monnapule Saleng puts the visitors in the front with a great cut cross on the left-hand side from Kabelo Dlamini who saw a gap and left Swallows FC defense in no man’s land.

Meanwhile, Swallows tried to come back into the game after some good attacks however it was the Buccaneers who stood firm and made sure they went to Half-time with a slender lead.
MONNAPULE SALENG SCORES FIRST HATTRICK FOR ORLANDO PIRATES
Pirates started the second half on a brighter note looking for a second goal and it was Monnapule Saleng who turned out to be a provider. He provided a great assist only two minutes into the second half with Terence Dzvukamanja extending the lead.
Swallows were gradually coming back into the game but the Pirates defense stood firm. It was the Buccaneers who launched a quick attack following a great combination between Lorch and Dlamini who sets up Saleng nicely and made it 3-0 in the 60th minute of the game, his second for the night.
BUCCANEERS TOO STRONG FOR SWALLOWS IN SOWETO DERBY
Swallows pulled one back in the 76th minute of the game through Mthokosizi Shwabule after they managed to open Pirates defense with 14 minutes left. Swallows were quick to attack as they were searching for a second goal of the night but it was Orlando Pirates who made a great interplay through Kermit Erasmus who sets up Saleng to complete a hat trick.

Despite the win, Orlando Pirates remains third on the log standings two points behind second place SuperSport United while Swallows FC remains 14th.
The Buccaneers will face Venda Football Academy in the Nedbank Cup last 16 on 11 March while Swallows will face Golden Arrows on 17 March in the DStv premiership clash.
