Limpopo side Sekhukhune United continued to blow hot and cold after they drew 1-1 all against Chippa United in the DStv Premiership at New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

It was a rather cordial affair as both teams were looking to settle by gaining a ball position in the middle of the park. It was Babina Noko who took advantage of the home ground as they looked dangerous on set pieces 10 minutes into the game.

The visitors were looking to counterattack the home side with Sekhukhune United calmly dealing with the pressure at the back.

Sekhukhune United opened the scoring courtesy of Chibuike Ohizu with a great header in the 25th minute after a superb cross from Roderick Kabwe who swung the ball into the visitors’ box.

The Chilli boys responded three minutes later following a great work from Meshack Maphangule who crossed the ball from a right wing inside the danger zone and found Etiosa Ighodaro who made no mistake and leveled the matters.

Chippa United looked to have gained confidence after an equalizer but that didn’t help as both teams went to a break with 1-1 all apiece.

The Chilli boys looked alive in the first few minutes of the second half as they created a chance at goals but Sekhukhune United defense dealt with those easily.

Both teams struggled to create clear chances towards the hour mark though Babina Noko were seeing a lot of balls. The home side were pushing for a second goal as the match reached the final stages.

Sekhukhune United were awarded a penalty in the 92nd minute of the game after the referee spotted a handball infringement inside the box and Roderick Kabwe stepped up but saw his efforts saved by a hero of the day Stanley Nwabali who made sure the visitors went home with a point.
