The official draw for the first ever Grannies international football tournament was conducted this past weekend.
The historic tournament is set to take place at Nkowa-Nkowa Stadium in the Tzaneen Greater Municipality from 26-29 March 2023.
Women over the age of 50 will take part in the Grannies international football tournament. It will involve 20 teams from countries such as USA, Togo, South Africa, Mozambique, Lesotho, Malawi, Zambia and Guinea.

“We are ready and we have been playing since 2007,” Tournament organiser Beka Ntsanwisi said.
“We have been to America, Brazil, Russia, and France and we are waiting for them and they know that we will beat them this Vakhegula-Vakhegula.
“I am confident that the cup will stay in Nkowankowa. We have players from different towns and villages such as Polokwane, Sekhukhune and Vhembe district,” she said.
