Match week eight proved how the 2023 SAFA Hollywoodbets Super League season continues to be a challenge for the defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies as they suffered a shock defeat.

UWC was the first team to register a win on Saturday against the Copperbelt Ladies FC. Followed by the University of Pretoria in a close one away from home by putting goals past Durban Ladies who managed to score one.

In Limpopo, Ma-Indies Ladies had a positive weekend as they collected three points against Thunderbirds FC.

While the University of Johannesburg continued with its consistent approach to every game in an encounter that ended 3-0 against First Touch Academy. In another fixture, Richmond United beat City Lads one-nil.

And TS Galaxy closed the day with a bang when they vanquished Coal City Wizards 6-0.

Sunday produced two goals from both fixtures with JVW scoring one goal to secure maximum points against TUT FC. And it was a weekend to forget for Sundowns ladies who succumbed to a 1-0 loss from Royal AM.
