Kaizer Chiefs were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Marumo Gallants while Orlando Pirates won their fourth DStv Premiership match in a row. Chiefs scored first against Gallants through Ashley Du Preez at FNB Stadium in the sixth minute. But Ranga Chivaviro found an equaliser moments before the halftime break.

The result means Amakhosi remain fourth with 41 points, two behind Orlando Pirates who are second. Gallants are now second from bottom equal on points with bottom placed Maritzburg United.


ORLANDO PIRATES MAKE IT FOUR OUT OF FOUR


Orlando Pirates reclaimed second place in the DStv Premiership after they beat Chippa United 2-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. First-half goals from Kabelo Dlamini and Thembinkosi Lorch secured a fourth straight win for Jose Riveiro’s side.

They moved back above SuperSport United on goal difference. The Chilli Boys remain two points clear of Maritzburg United in 14th place.

Golden Arrows bounced back to winning ways when they defeated Richards Bay 1-0 at the King Zwelithini Stadium.


The win took Abafana Bes’thende to seventh spot on the league standings. They will be looking to make it two wins in a row when they face Mamelodi Sundowns at home on 12 April.

The Natal Rich Boys, on the other hand, slipped down to eighth spot on the standings. They will be keen to cause an upset against newly-crowned champions Sundowns away on 18 April.


SEKHUKHUNE UNITED JUMP INTO THE TOP 8


Sekhukhune United secured a 1-0 win over Maritzburg United at Peter Mokaba Stadium. Sibusiso Vilakazi came off the bench to score the winner for his side with four minutes remaining.
