Floyd Mbele resigns from his administration role at Orlando Pirates, the club has announced on Tuesday.
The top soccer administrator has vacated his position after more than a decade working in the management department of the PSL giants. This is the second time for Mbele leaving the club. He did the same back then in 2011 after winning the treble with the Soweto side.
Mbele left the club while they are on the verge of playing in the CAF Champions League next season. Pirates sit third on the league’s table, with just a point behind second placed SuperSport United, who played one more game.

“Orlando Pirates has accepted the resignation of the club’s Administration Manager, Mr. Floyd Mbele,” the club’s statement reads.
“The Club Management wishes him the best in his future endeavours.”

Media news reneged lately is that South African well-known Chief Executive Officer Sinky Mnisi has been offered a deal to replace Mbele as Pirates manager, though the news has not been confirmed yet.
The experienced football administrator had announced his departure from the DStv Premiership side Royal AM in January after he was suspended by the club last year.
It’s still unclear whether Mnisi will join the Sea Robbers or not in the 2023/2024 season.
