Maritzburg United secured all three points against Casric Stars FC to go top of the PSL Promotion Playoffs at Harry Gwala Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Team of Choice beat the Motsepe Foundation Championship side 2-0.

MARITZBURG UNITED GO TOP AFTER CASRIC WIN
Maritzburg are in the promotion playoffs after finishing 15th in the DStv Premiership with 30 points. Their 1-1 draw against Champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the last match was not enough to avoid the playoffs.
Casric Stars on the other hand have now also lost two games in a row. They lost the opening match 1-0 to Cape Town Spurs at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium. On-form forward Ashley Cupido scored the winning goal for Spurs.
PSL PROMOTION PLAYOFFS BATTLE CONTINUE
Maritzburg will now face Spurs in a PSL Promotion playoffs top of the log at Athlone Stadium on Saturday at 15:00. This will be an important game for Fadlu Davids and his team in their pursuit to return to the DStv Premiership for the 2023/24 season.
