Maritzburg lose to Spurs in crucial playoff match

DStv Premiership Maritzburg United suffered their first loss in the PSL promotion playoffs after a 1-0 defeat by Cape Town Spurs at Athlone Stadium.

The Team of Choice came into the match having won their first game against Casric Stars 2-0 on Wednesday evening. On the other side, Cape Town Spurs also defeated Casric Stars by a goal to nil on Sunday.

Before the loss, Maritzburg United were on top of the mini-log table. But now they have dropped to position number two. Michael Morton scored the winning goal for the Urban Warriors in the 16th minute.

Maritzburg didn’t have even a single shot on target for the whole game during the loss. The Urban Warriors had four shots on target and they managed to score at least one goal in their four shots on targets. Maritzburg United will now visit Casric Stars next Wednesday at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium.
