Seshego-born winger Kgaogelo Sekgota and Kaizer Chiefs have officially parted ways despite having a one-year left in his contract.

Sekgota was not part of the match day squad when Chiefs toured Botswana for a friendly match against Township Rollers at National Stadium. The 26-year-old made 29 appearances for Amakhosi last season.

He is set to complete a move to ambitious DStv Premiership side Stellenbosch FC.

Despite not getting enough game time at Amakhosi Sekgota has attracted a few clubs in the DStv Premiership including his former team Moroka Swallows and SuperSport United. But Stellies won the race for his signature.

“Winger Kgaogelo Sekgota has departed Kaizer Chiefs after spending two years with the Club,” Chiefs announced on Tuesday.

“Sekgota arrived at Amakhosi from Swallows FC ahead of the 2021/22 season, and featured 48 times (14 starts + 34 subs) in the gold & black colours of the Glamour Boys.

“His new Club will make an announcement in due course after finalising all the paperwork pertaining to his registration,” they said.
