Kaizer Chiefs Corporate Communications Manager Vina Maphosa has shared some insights about the current situation of Amakhosi coach Molefi Ntseki who left Mbombela Stadium with the protection of police officers and club security members.

Amakhosi have lost their second match of the 2022/23 DStv premiership campaign under Ntseki. The defeat against TS Galaxy on Sunday left the club supporters disappointed and some threw bottles to the coach after the match.

The Soweto giants are currently at the bottom half of the DStv premiership league table after collecting one point in three matches.

Despite a bad start of the new campaign Vina Maphosa insists the coach is not shaken by what happened at the Mbombela and it’s unfair to judge him after three league games.

“Coach Molefi Ntseki is fine and not shaken by what happened in Mbombela.  He knows it comes with the territory. He has our full support. We appointed the Coach to come and bring back the glory days. We can’t turn our backs on him, it’s only 3 league games, the transfer window is not closed and our new striker hasn’t even arrived yet,” says Maphosa on Radio 2000.

“We know that football is an emotional game and losing is part of it.  We really ask our supporters to give us the time.

The family has invested so much in the club and doesn’t deserve to be trashed like it’s happening. Especially on social media. We appeal to the fans for calmness, we’re all about Love and Peace.

Chiefs was linked with international coach Nasreddine Nabi after a substandard season under Arthur Zwane. However, the deal didn’t go as planned and the talks between two parties collapsed. Hence the club opted to give Molefi Ntseki the job.

Amakhosi will be looking to go back to winning ways when they host AmaZulu at FNB Stadium on Saturday evening. Both sides also haven’t won any league matches this season.
