AmaZulu FC midfielder Yanga Mjoli has revealed that he is happy for the return of the DStv Diski Challenge and their main objective this season is to win the league. Usuthu finished the 2022/23 season in position number eight in the DStv Diski Challenge with 43 points.

In 30 games of the league, this club won 12, lost 11 and drew seven games last season. This coming weekend they are set to face their neighbours, Lamontville Golden Arrows FC.

On the other side, Abafana Besthende finished the 2022/23 season in position number six. This game will be held in Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday, September 10 at 13:00.

“I’m very happy [for the return of the league] and feeling super ready for the game,” Mjoli told LimSportsZone.

The first games of the league will be a lot of Derby matches. The match between Stellenbosch FC against Chippa United FC and Moroka Swallows FC against TS Galaxy FC will be the only games that will be not Derby matches this weekend. The defending champions, SuperSport United FC will be hosted by their neighbours, Mamelodi Sundowns FC at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium this Saturday. The game will start at exactly 13:00.

“[What we want this weekend] is to win the game and implement what we were doing during preseason, as much of that we are willing to compete and work hard more than the opposition to secure the maximum three points in the bag,” Mjoli said.

The other big match to watch this weekend is a Soweto Derby between Orlando Pirates FC against Kaizer Chiefs FC at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday. This game will start at 15:00.
