AmaZulu FC defender Siphephelo Majola is pleased with his team’s performance during the DStv Diski Challenge opening match last weekend. Usuthu played to a 1-1 draw in a KZN derby against neighbours Golden Arrows.

Usuthu came into the match with a new head coach following the appointment of Reneilwe Letsholonyane.

The young defender who was on the scoresheet says although it was not the result they desired, they are pleased with the performance.

 “It was a good game as you know it’s a KZN Derby,” Majola told LimSportsZone.

“We went there to enjoy football and play what we’ve been coached to do throughout the preseason and even on training is playing and enjoying as we did.

“Not the results we wanted but I’m happy and need double efforts on the next game,” he said.

“I’m very happy to score, you know it’s every player’s dream to score a goal. For me, it’s also all about helping the team to get the results we want and move to the next one.”

NEXT DSTV DISKI CHALLENGE TASK FOR USUTHU

Usuthu will now face Amakhosi on Sunday, 17 September at Chatsworth Stadium in Durban.

Chiefs also come into the match after a 1-1 draw against rivals Orlando Pirates. Both clubs will be vying for a first win of the season.

“Expect a lot [against Kaizer Chiefs] as we learn each and every game, we will do better. With the technical team and players we have, a lot is gonna happen,” Majola concluded.
