Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has commented on some of the players he selected for the national team but couldn’t make it to his camp due to injuries and other reasons.
Bross has indicated that they had a similar situation with players being unavailable despite being selected to represent the country.

The Belgian-born believes there’s a need for better communication between PSL clubs and the national team.
“Unfortunately, this camp is disturbed again by injuries like last month. We have [Bathusi] Aubaas, [Thapelo] Morena, [Thapelo] Maseko… Maseko is something different, it’s the second time we have that surprise that he’s injured and suddenly he plays,” Broos said at the HPC today.
“It was last month with Mudau, this month, Maseko. I think we need better communication between the national team and clubs so we really know how much the players are injured and if he’s not ready to come with the national team.
HUGO BROOS CONCERNED AS PLAYERS WITHDRAW FROM BAFANA CAMP
Percy Tau is another who has withdrawn from the camp due to family reasons. Al Ahly star has been replaced by Mduduzi Mdantsane. However, Broos claims he is not satisfied with Tau’s decision because played for his team recently after asking to be withdrawn from the national team.
“Then there’s the case of Percy Tau, we had contact last week, [and] for family reasons he [excused himself], and I understood it but on the other side, I’m really not amused that he played yesterday with Al Ahly.
“So, I think clubs need to understand that in very important periods they want their players. But it’s the same case for me, for us as a national team. We’re in a very important period, we’re preparing for qualifiers next month and AFCON in January.
“So, I hope a little bit more collaboration from [clubs] would be welcome. It means our goal is not achieved, that we have nearly the same squad that won against Morocco and build on that selection to have a very good team going into qualifiers and AFCON.”
Mmonnapule Saleng is the latest player to be withdrawn from the squad due to illness. The Bucs player has been replaced by Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo.
South Africa will host Eswatini on Friday evening at FNB Stadium. They will visit Ivory Coast next week at Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny.
