Chippa United on Thursday announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates and AmaZulu striker Augustine Mulenga on a two-year deal.

This follows speculation over the past few days on the players’ future. The Chilli boys have finally announced the signing of Mulenga in order to bolster their attacking squad ahead of the new season.

CHIPPA UNITED UNVEIL LATEST SIGNING

When first joined Orlando Pirates Augustine Mulenga was tipped to be a marquee signing for Orlando Pirates. However, it wasn’t to be as Mulenga did not impress and was later shipped to KZN side AmaZulu FC where he spent one season in 2020/21 with 15 matches under his belt scoring 3 league goals and 1 assist.

AUGUSTINE MULENGA LEFT USUTHU UNDER CONTROVERSY.

Much was expected from the Chipolopolo star but it wasn’t to be as he was later let go by AmaZulu FC. This follows his underperformance and injuries which added to him being released by the Club.

However! Mulenga shared his desire to stay in South Africa after he parted ways with Usuthu. He eventually returned home and joined Napsa Stars to revive his career.

Chippa United earlier this week also confirmed the signing of former Pirates utility player Craig Martin. He spent six months at the Soweto Giants after joining from Cape Town City.
