Al Nassr were due to host Al Ta’ee in a Saudi Arabian premier league encounter at 17:00. But according to a statement released by the club, the match has been moved forward by 24 hours due to bad weather.

Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo could face a long wait to make his debut. This is due to the Saudi club exceeding their quota for foreign players.

Cristiano Rolando is now Al Nassr’s ninth foreign player, one more than the eight allowed by Saudi football authorities.

“Al Nassr has not registered him yet because there is no vacancy for a foreign player,” a club official told AFP.

“A foreign player must leave to register Ronaldo, either by selling or by terminating the contract by mutual consent.”

The Portugal captain was greeted by thousands of adoring fans in Riyadh on Tues when he was officially unveiled.

He was paraded at his new club’s Mrsool Park Stadium after jetting in with his entourage late on Monday.

“It’s not the end of my career to come to Saudi Arabia. This is why I change and, to be honest, I’m really not worried about what people say,” said Ronaldo. He has signed for an estimated €200 million until June 2025.

“I’m a unique player. It’s good to come here, I broke all the records there (in Europe) and I want to break a few records here.

“I’m coming here to win, to play, to enjoy, to be part of the success of the country and culture of the country,” said the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.
