N’GOLO KANTE LONG LAYOFF

The 31-year-old went under the knife in October ruling him out of action for four months.

He has struggled this year with injuries and therefore looks likely to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the 2022/23 season.

A number of teams have already made their interest in Kante known and it appears that the Saudi Arabian side have emerged as the frontrunners to sign him.

They are looking to add both Kante and former Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo to their squad in the coming months.

Avram Grant has officially been unveiled as the new Zambian national team coach. The former Chelsea coach was appointed on a two-year deal with an option to renew.

He replaced Croatian, Alijosa Asanovic, who left the position unceremoniously.

The 67-year old Israeli tactician has been mandated to lead Chipolopolo to the 2023 Afcon finals.

AVRAM GRANT TECHNICAL TEAM

Grant is expected to come with one foreign assistant. He will pick another local coach to make up his technical team bench.

In 2015, he guided the Black Stars of Ghana to the Africa Cup Of Nations final but lost on penalties to Ivory Coast.

He resigned after finishing fourth in the same competition two years later.

“I was looking for the right challenge and that’s why I chose Zambia,” said Grant at a press conference in Lusaka.

“I came here because of the challenge and I hope when I leave here I will look around and say we did a good job and made a good foundation for the future,” he added.

Grant’s first match will be at home to Lesotho in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in March.
