The Zimbabwean international has come in for heavy criticism online at times. But he has remained a loyal servant to the club. The management continues to trust him to a greater or lesser degree.

“Chirambadare’s contract will be extended, they are renewing his one-year option,” a source close to the player said.

“The club will be delighted to be able to count on his continued professionalism and leadership he brings to the table. More especially in the dressing room.”

The former Kaizer Chiefs player turns 32 years later this June. He has scored four goals in 28 matches he played last season in all competitions.

Chirambadare’s side lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals, in which he was on the scoresheet.
