Football legends from Limpopo on Thursday unveiled a newly launched tournament to take place in June. The first-ever tournament will be played by Capricorn legends from Polokwane, Molemole, Lepelle Nkumpi, and also Sekhukhune.

When Blouberg Legends could not form a team, Sekhukhune Legends were invited to conclude the four-team tournament. The one-day tournament will be played at Baroka Global Village Stadium in Lebowakgomo on Saturday, 24 June.

The final edition will include all winners of the five provincial districts: Capricorn, Vhembe, Mopani, Sekhukhune, and also Waterberg. The partners include TEFLA GROUP as our main sponsor, Zororo Lodge, Gallery of Legends, Baroka FC, Metropolitan, Coke, Vision View TV, Matomela Gearbox and Diff, Limpopo Sports Confederation and Department of Sports, Arts, and Culture.

The objectives of initiating this tournament are amongst others, to organize, celebrate and recognize Masters and Legends in the Province. To create opportunities for Masters and Legends to participate in Sports activities.

LEGENDS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT

Organize Masters and Legends to take their rightful place in football structures. Address social ills like drug abuse and gender-based violence in communities. Participating teams will also receive a playing kit and soccer balls.

The winner will also receive a floating trophy and gold medals. Runner-up will receive silver medals and the bronze medals will go to the third-position team. All the teams will also receive prize money.

There are also four categories of trophies to be won:
Player of the tournament
Golden boot
Goalkeeper of the tournament
Supporter of the tournament
