AmaTuks coach Maud Khumalo reckons that she made sure her side capitalise on First Touch Academy’s mistakes to come out victorious in their SAFA Hollywoodbets Super League at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday. The result also meant the newly promoted side completed a successful month.

AmaTuks’ 3-1 win against First Touch came full circle of what seemed to be a fantastic month for the Tshwane outfit, who won every game during May. They are currently sitting in the 6th position in the log standings and according to Khumalo, she predicted that her side would do great this month.

GREAT MONTH FOR AMATUKS

“I had predicted [earlier] this month that we are going to collect maximum points, but I was not complacent about it,” said Khumalo

“But I knew we are on the right track,”

Coach Khumalo explained she anticipated a tough battle because the Limpopo side can be challenging, however, she knew that they were going to find a way to neutralise them.

“I am happy because when I was looking at this game, I knew that First Touch is not an easy team, but I knew that we are going to get three points,” she added.

“I know they have their mistakes, I was looking at the goalkeeper and that’s when I realised that we need to play high and low balls because they were sitting on their goalkeeper.

“That’s why I emphasised to the girls that they must go to the side and give them highs and lows, hence we scored those goals from those angles.”

This side will now shift their focus to Copperbelt Ladies, whom they will be facing on Sunday, 04 June.

The first half of the Hollywoodbets Super League season wrap-up also saw TS Galaxy pick up three points on the road against Copperbelt Ladies and Richmond United held Royal AM to a 1-1 draw.
