Kaizer Chiefs marketing director Jessica Motaung has shared the excitement of Amakhosi’s new sponsor after the club released their new Kappa kits ahead of the new season.

Chiefs and Italian sportswear giants Kappa have reunited in a landmark agreement that sees them become Chiefs’ official technical sponsor and licensing partner from the 2023/24 season for an initial period of five years.

The partnership follows the parting of ways between the club and Nike at the end of the PSL 2022/23 season. After the longest kit partnership in the club’s history, lasting for 23 years.

The Soweto giants’ Marketing and Commercial Director, Jessica Motaung hopes the club’s next generation will bring back the glory days with the new sponsor. Amakhosi have won many trophies back in the days when they were wearing Kappa.

“We are very happy with our new sponsor. We hope the future generation can rewrite history, it’s important in growing our brand across Africa and getting our team in more tournaments as well as PSL. PSL needs to be known out there. We are fortunate to have a strong brand and passionate fans,” says Jessica Motaung on Marawa Sports Worldwide.

“I want our supporters to understand that we have been very intentional in everything we do. I love their passion, but I think people should be better in the way they express themselves; sometimes supporters can be nasty. My plea to our supporters is to trust us. Some players are not available when we want to buy them.

Motaung has stated that the jersey is available in their retail store for fans who are interested in purchasing the jersey.

“We are aware of all the responsibilities that we have, the jersey is R1200. It’s a lifestyle range for us at Kappa. Visit our retailers and they have all our merchandise,” she added.

“We are very serious this season and our goals are long-term. There must be trust that the management and the tech team understand what we need to do.”’

Amakhosi will start their season against Chippa United at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 06 August. The match is set for 15h00.
