Kaizer Chiefs sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has required the Amakhosi fans to be patient with coach Arthur Zwane

Chiefs under Arthur Zwane have been blowing hot and cold since he took over officially at the beginning of the season. Things also got worse this past weekend after he was booed by the fans following a 3-2 defeat by Golden Arrows at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday.

Zwane had to be escorted by Police to prevent any danger from the angry fans.

But speaking at the Soweto derby press briefing on Monday, Motaung Jr says the club has started to play the brand of football that fans can identify with.

“But at the same time, we do ask for some calmness and support from our Khosi faithful. It’s difficult, none of us are happy with our position in the league. We have began to play the brand of football that our fans identify with. But it has to come with results, not making any illusions. So we ask for support for our players.”

“As management, from the board of directors, the chairman and the rest of the management. It’s about creating the right environment for the players to perform.

“Bringing the right players, having the right infrastructure and making the right decisions. From our side is about planning adequately for the immediate future and making sure that we make the right decisions,” he said.

Chiefs will be looking to bounce back from the disappointment of the weekend when they take on Orlando Pirates at FNB Stadium on Saturday. This match will also be vital in terms of Chiefs pursuing a second placed finish which will secure them a CAF Champions League spot.
