Bafana Bafana vice-captain Siyanda Xulu believes that the senior national men’s team is well prepared and ready for their game against Liberia. The CAF Africa Cup of nations tie is set to take place on Friday evening at Orlando Stadium.
The seasoned defender said that the group is in a strong position and is conscious of the stakes in a media interview on Thursday afternoon.
“I think the mood is going quite well, and we know what it is like to not qualify. We are very confident, [and] we know it’s not going to be that easy,” said Xulu in response to SAFA’s media officer Romy Titus’ question.

He stated that they would proceed cautiously and concentrate their efforts on the immediate tasks at hand.
“The most important thing for us is to try and win this game, then take it from there.
“For us to focus on both games [now] will not do us any justice. The most important one is to take this upcoming one very important and I think we are ready,” he said.
SIYANDA XULU AND CO KNOWS WHAT IS EXPECTED
The 31-year-old stressed that they are fully responsible for winning the game. Since they are well-prepared and he emphasized the significance of scoring goals.
“We have prepared well for the game. It’ll be up to us on how positive we are in terms of making sure we secure all the three points. Try to score as many goals as we can.
“As the coach [Hugo Broos] explained, we remember what happens when it comes to goal difference. So, we need it as well,” he concluded.
The match will kickoff at 18h00 SA time and the second leg will be played on the 28th in Liberia.
