The DStv Premiership side, Chippa United have announced the signing of former Orlando Pirates star, Luvuyo Memela on a two-year deal.

The midfielder was on the books of Richards Bay last season and his contract with the Natal Rich Boys expired at the end of June, leaving him a free agent.

The Chilli Boys have teased the signing of a player in a post on social media during the week, which left people guessing who could be the player. And finally, they have confirmed the signing of a midfield maestro.

The club, which has already added Memela’s former Orlando Pirates teammate Augustin Molenga to its ranks, added even more star power to the squad, signing the 35-year-old as a free agent.

His presence on the field was instrumental in the team’s success, his return fills the club with renewed excitement and anticipation for the upcoming season.


Having enjoyed a successful stint at Orlando Pirates, Memela left an undeniable mark on both the team and passionate supporters. His exceptional skills, versatility and strong work ethic were evident throughout his tenure.

Following his time at Orlando Pirates, Memela continued to excel at AmaZulu FC under the guidance of renowned coach Benny McCarthy, further solidifying his reputation as a top-class player.
