Affectionately known as the Chairman in football circles, Mashudu Mundalamo Tshikundamalema’s untimely departure is so difficult to digest.

Despite his ‘unequivocal’ love for Orlando Pirates, the Chairman was neutral and objective towards any football club. As I was waiting for his educated analysis in a game in which Pirates walloped Sekhukhuni 5-0 in the MTN8 I just saw the devastating news trending.

Mundalamo Tshikundamalema was full of life and his sense of humor was undoubtedly beyond unreasonable doubt. He was a football fanatic of note, his post-match analysis and predictions inspired many.

The football fraternity has been disarmed with a soldier who dedicated his entire life to football. Apart from the game, he was a husband and a father who valued his family wholeheartedly.

Rest in Peace Chairman Mashudu Mundalamo

REST IN PEACE MASHUDU MUNDALAMO

I can boost by saying I was very fortunate to even spend some time with him. During the festive holidays, we would arrange a social meeting with Alex Netshapasha (Phalaphala FM news reader) who introduced me to Mundalamo.

By the time of penning this tribute, I was still struggling to come to terms with the sudden passing of the Chairman.

Finally, I would like to plead with local business moguls to honour him with the annual Mashudu Mundalamo Tshikundamalema Chairman soccer tournament in his village of birth.

Rest well Chairman.
Once and always
Buccaneer of note.
