Former Kaizer Chiefs development coach Farouk Khan believes Kaizer Chiefs have made good signings ahead of the new seasons.

Amakhosi have been looking to reclaim the glory days since 2015 after they won a double with Stuart Baxter during his first spell with the club.

The Soweto giants have made eight signings so far including the South American with the hope of lifting a trophy next season.

Khan, who is the director of Stars of Africa Football Academy insists the players his former team made are good and will give them depth which they will need during the season.

“Chiefs made some very good signings which has given them the depth they need,” says Farouk Khan during an exclusive interview with LimSportsZone.

Venezuelan Edson Castillo

“The Venezuelan [Edson Castillo] defensive midfielder gives them the balance in midfield allowing them to push [Yusuf] Maart further forward.

The Glamour Boys will start the season with Molefi Ntseki as the head coach after demoting Arthur Zwane to the assistant coach position. They also brought back a 74-year-old goalkeeper coach Rainer Dinkelacker who produced top goalkeepers for Amakhosi in the past years. Khan states the addition of Dinkelacker is a huge addition to the club’s technical team having worked with him in the past.

“They also have Dinkelacker the goalkeeper trainer, a huge addition to their technical team. I worked with him [he is] a top coach,” he said.

Chiefs are likely to have a new centre back pairing of Thatoyaone Ditlhokwe who joined on a pre-contract from SuperSport United and Given Msimango who signed a four years contract with the Glamour Boys.

Amakhosi have added their midfield with Mduduzi Mdantsane and Edson Castillo who will both give Chiefs another dimension in midfield. On the wings, they signed Free State-born Pule Mmodi on a three-year contract and Tebogo Potsane whose contract with Royal AM ended.
