The 2023 Limpopo provincial promotional playoffs have been postponed to the weekend of 22 and 23 July 2023. The delay is due to the legal battle in the SAFA Capricorn region, one of the regions to participate in the event.

The provincial playoffs were initially planned for 8 and 9 July 2023 at Nkowankowa Stadium, Tzaneen. They were later moved to the weekend of 14/15 July.

But LimSportsZone can now confirm that the playoffs will be held on the weekend of 24/25 July. The case which is set to be heard on Wednesday involves Lebash FC, Mohlabile United and SAFA.

During the regional playoffs that were held on 24 and 25 June 2023 in Blouberg (Defride Village), there was a protest lodged in the final match between Mohlabile United and Lebash FC. The Regional Disciplinary hearing found Lebash FC guilty of fielding a fraudulently registered player. Mohlabile United was then awarded the maximum points for the match.

Lebash then lodged an appeal with SAFA, against the decision of the Regional DC. The appeal hearing is scheduled for Wednesday. Considering the urgency of the matter the DC will allegedly be held online. The verdict is expected on Thursday.

The two teams who finish on top of a mini-five team promotional playoffs log will be promoted to the ABC Motsepe League in Limpopo for the upcoming season.
